Energy and material recovery in WWTPs: new pilot plants installed

The implementation of the research, development and technology validation platform to face the current challenges of the Integrated Water Service continues with the installation of new pilot plants of the PerFORM WATER 2030 project.
In April, project partners SEAM and HyDEP delivered pilot plants at San Giuliano Milanese West wastewater treatment plant for the experimental study of innovative biological biogas upgrading to biomethane, co-digestion processes to increase biogas production and the recovery of water and nutrients for aquaponics: Circular Economy research and development themes thus become real application cases through which important results for the innovative optimization of water processes will be obtained.
